CREATIVITY AND EXPRESSIONS
Indraprastha INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL strongly uphold the school motto, “Teach Each Child, Develop Whole Child.' As we aim at the holistic development of our young students. The school rears a platform for the young saplings where they get manifold opportunities to boost up their expression and strengthen creative process by consistently motivating them to acquire the requisite skills by actively participating in the following Performing Arts - theatre, Music, Dance, Art and Craft.
The enthusiastic participation of each child in these performing arts enhances their ability to imagine, to create, to perform, and to design. For we believe that, thinking creatively, giving shape to ideas, and expressing those ideas through different genres is not only indispensable to all artistic endeavours, but it also facilitates and enriches the conventional academic pursuits, stimulates problem-solving ability, and foster originality in concepts among enthusiastic learners in their tender years .

The multi- dimensional curriculum at the Primary Wing of Indraprastha stimulates each child to emerge from the cocoon and blossom into confident individual with vibrant mind ever yearning to learn and raring to march ahead.
The nationwide lockdown due to COVID 19 threw before us unprecedented challenges and put life out of gear have a we at Indraprastha International was undeterred. The Online Virtual School Programme, was crafted in the month of March itself. Two activity Assignments based on the concepts taught in the previous class were sent for a week for each class. The syllabus for the new session was revamped and tailored according to the virtual constrains. The new session began in the month of April as planned. Initially, class V started with Zoom Sessions thrice a day, every week. Class III and Class IV were provided with the academic videos for the first week, followed by the practice assignments. From the second week onwards the academics were taken up through Zoom Sessions for all classes III, IV and V. The well- designed presentations helped in bringing conceptual clarity. The live demonstrations and science experiments conducted by the teachers made the virtual teaching intriguing. The concept of flipped teaching across various subjects aided peer learning. There were virtual tours conducted for social science so that the children could get a sneak peek of different places not only in India but of the world. Various activities were conducted as a part of language development that only boosted their confidence but helped them attain command over the language. The comprehensive resources were also provided to the children to augment the concepts taught. Enriching practice assignments were sent to reinforce the concepts taught. Personalized attention was given to the children through one-to-one sessions especially to the children who were not able to take the vantage of virtual classes.
Virtual PTMs were held, wherein our teachers interacted with the parents and solved their queries. Positive feedback was given regarding the progress of each child.
Along with academics, co- scholastic activities also progressed. To keep the imagination and creativity of the children alive as well as enhance their skills in clay molding, dance, music, art & craft, etc. videos pertaining to the same were sent regularly. Health is our prime concern especially in the current scenario. To ensure that a little ones remain agile and in robust health, videos on taekwondo, yoga and physical fitness were also sent from time to time.
To give a breath of fresh air and break the monotony of the online classes the Primary Wing conducted an online Poetry competition in both Hindi and English, to celebrate the Earth Day. The cleanliness drive Swachhata Pakhwada was celebrated with great zeal. Children participated in the Painting Competition, E-Banners were designed and E -messages were framed to resonate the message of cleanliness.
Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat was also celebrated throughout the session. Singing, dancing and tableau making were organized to promote the partner state Sikkim and get the children familiarized to the rich culture and bio-diversity of the state
The development in Indraprastha is synonymous to creative thinking and multi- dimensional individual growth. Children were encouraged to articulate their thoughts through poems and articles and design beautiful Class Magazines section-wise
Value Education has always been an integral part of our curriculum. To keep our little ones positive and invoke empathy, which is the need of the hour, Life Skill videos were also sent regularly.
In the month of May the English department of The Primary Wing hosted a Virtual Intra-School event – Literary Characters Come Alive, wherein the students of class V from all the branches of Indraprastha Schools exhibited their creativity and finesse through their literary skills. The annual Inter -School Computer Festival, ION was held in the month of July wherein the students of Primary Department participated enthusiastically. The Primary Wing also hosted the Virtual Inter-School Event –Ignited Minds, 2020 in the month of August. There were 10 events organized wherein more than 500 students from 50 prestigious schools from Delhi/NCR unleashed their creativity.
To inspire the students to participate and contribute towards the celebration of various days of relevance like Mother’s Day, Buddha Purnima, Eid, Van Mahotsav, Navratri, Dussehra, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Halloween, Emoji Day, World Laughter Day, World Book Day, etc., there were various Intra –Class Competitions and Activities held every week on Wednesdays.
Evaluation here is not to test knowledge but to broaden the horizons of knowledge. The first round of Periodic Assessment was conducted in the month of May through the Google Form. All the other three assessments were successfully conducted on the Microsoft teams under the strict supervision of the respective class teachers.
In June, the children were given a break from the academic sessions however in order to fruitfully engage them and keep them confined to their homes, Summer Carnival was organized for the students. The carnival included engaging activities as well as fun loving subjective games.
Children came together to exhibit their creative talents and gain confidence through Online Assemblies conducted every Wednesday on the various cultural and moral themes like Van Mahotsav – Harit Kranti, Today’s Reader, Tomorrow’s Leader, Sharing is Caring, A Friend in Need is the Friend Indeed, etc. Assemblies were the platform for the children to celebrate various festivals too like Raksha Bandhan – A Knot of Love and Care, Janmashtami – Celebrating the Birth of Lord Krishna, Independence Day – We the Indians, Ganesh Chaturthi – A Festival of Lord Ganesha Gandhi Jayanti – Celebrating the birthday of our ‘Father of the Nation’, Dussehra – Victory of Good Over Evil and various other festivals.
The children of the Primary Wing showed commendable performance in various Inter –School Competitions and won the glory for the institution. The little ones bagged 40 First Prizes, 42 Second Prizes. Kiara Kapoor of class VB2 qualified for the final round of the Online Read India Competition, 2020. Maayukh Aggarwal of class III B2 won the Second Position in the all India online Speed Mathematics Challenge organized by Melio. Pratyusha Jena of IV AII made the Primary Wing proud by winning a Gold Medal in the SOF International English Olympiad. Pratyush Ghose of Class V B 1 won umpteen laurels for the school. In the International Olympiad for Mathematics, he won a Gold Medal in the first level and won Silver Medal by securing Zonal rank 2 in Delhi NCR. In International Olympiad of Science,2019-20 held for class IV, in Level 1 he won a Gold Medal and in Level 2 he won a Bronze Medal. In the Smart Kid GK Olympiad, International Olympiad of English Language, International Spell Bee, conducted by Humming Bird, for class IV, he won a Gold Medal respectively. In Indian School Talent Search Exam (ISTSE) 2021 held online for class V he secured 23 International Rank and won a Bronze Medal.In International Asteroid Discovery Project (IADP) conducted by Stem & Space-Delhi in collaboration with International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC), Pratyush Ghose with one of his teammate discovered 10 (ten) new Asteroids in the Near Earth Orbit (NEO) and got recognition of preliminary discovery by Minor Planet Centre (MPC) of International Astronomical Union (IAU) funded by NASA.
Art Integrated Learning Projects were planned for the students in the month of November for Primary classes. The aim was to familiarize students with the art and culture of Sikkim. Activities based on folktales, famous monuments, food, jewellery, traditional dresses and places of tourist attractions were organized individually by the subject teacher in all three classes.
The school tends to facilitate the growth of students and inculcate a sense of responsibility among them. In the month of July, the Investiture Ceremony was held virtually. Students of class V were assigned various portfolios. Shaurya Beniwal was appointed as the Head Boy and Aarna Tyagi as the Head girl. Kiara Kapoor, Saaarthak Chakraborty and Navya Chaudhary were nominated as the Cultural Society Head, Literary Society Head and Community Outreach In charge respectively.
The prestigious competition, Aryabhatta is organized every year with the aim of exploring and sharpening the minds of the budding mathematicians. After months of tutoring and guidance given by the Mathematics Department the students emerged victorious and exhibited exemplary performance in the 38th Aryabhatta Inter-School Mathematics Competition 2020 with outstanding ranks. Pratyush Ghose and Swarit Gupta got the 10th rank. Praganya Guliani, Aditya Dey, Kiara Kapoor, Vedant Ranjan Pati, Sarthak Chakraborty, Raghav Khanna and Anvesha Mandal also held ranks in top 50.
Class III put up a Virtual Show --Time Travel… a walk-through time in the month of December. In January yet another virtual show ‘Incredible India: Secular, Diversified and Eternal', was put up by class IV. The students showcased the formation of the Constitution of India, its journey of becoming a Sovereign and Republic country and inclusion of Fundamental Rights and Duties.
Indraprastha firmly believes that a sound mind resides in a healthy body. Classes III, IV and V flexed their physical prowess through the Virtual Sports Day- Ullaas 2020-21. Various interesting games and colourful drills were presented by the students, who participated with full energy and zest. The students also showcased their talents in drills aerobics, skating, yoga and taekwondo.
CLASSES I & II
Indraprastha, has made its mark by always adopting and following the best and the most innovative teaching methodologies. We at IPIS adopt the students and emphasise on the mission to transform young minds into enthusiastic learners by following Integrated Approach, hand-on experience activities, audio-visual aids and play-way methodology to teach each child and to develop whole child by conducting five classes in a day at the Early Primary Level ( Classes I & II ) related to curricular ( vis-à-vis English , environmental studies, mathematics, hindi, General Knowledge ) and co-curricular activities
( art, dance , skating, computers, swimming, games, music, potter , taekwondo, life skills , Language Development Programme )
The academic session 2020-21 started with challenge due to the pandemic. But the teachers and the students altogether brought the evolution in the teaching-learning process and set an example for the upcoming generations by switching over from the offline to online classes without any hesitation and glitch. Keeping in mind the age of the students, the Blended learning was initiated by sharing the videos with the students not only related to curricular but for co-curricular activities also like life skills , kitchenette , gardening , clay , physical fitness , art , dance , music etc. The focus was to engage each child , to create interest in the teaching- learning process and to include the content in the most innovative and interesting way thereby connecting each child on one to one basis to help them develop not only academically but also to build up their strong moral character. The doubt sessions were conducted through Zoom platform regularly along with telephonically connecting to the students individually to help them understand each and every concept. When the students got adjusted to the new techniques of teaching-learning process, two online classes were conducted on regular basis.
At Indraprastha, we lay emphasis on overall development of the students, keeping in mind their interest and the importance to remain fit and healthy, the classes for the co-curricular activities i.e.- Taekwondo, Yoga, Art , Dance , Music were conducted in the evening . The students participated in various competitions at Intra and Inter-school level which helped them gain confidence and they came out with flying colours. Regular PTM’s were conducted to discuss the growth of each child with their parents.
Celebrating In A Special Way (Character Building )
Various Special Weeks were celebrated in a special way to help the students imbibe goods standards of behaviour Summer Fiesta ( Mango and Watermelon Festival ) , Furry Fiesta , Halloween , Fantasy World, Summer Carnival to name a few. This helped the students develop their speaking skills wherein the students got the opportunity to participate and speak their heart out. They got the opportunity to showcase their innate talents through various activities.
Celebrating together - Dandiya Party - Navratiri ( Durga Puja ) , Christmas Celebrations, New Year celebrations , Lohri , Basant Panchami ,Independence and Republic day celebrations were conducted wherein students dressed up in accordance to the theme , danced and ate together in the virtual way.

We at Early Primary believe that learning by doing is the best way to make the students understand in a better way. Keeping this in mind, various activities were conducted ( curricular and co-curricular) especially to celebrate these important days and to know their significance. Founder’s Day, Earth Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day , Dussehra , Independence Day, Republic Day , Gandhi Jayanti , World Education Day, Book Day, Van Mahotsav were to name a few. The students enjoyed the activities performed on these special days to the fullest .
Assemblies were conducted every Wednesdays to help the students become a responsible citizen and to value the rich and diverse Indian culture which in turn helped the students develop confidence, enhanced their speaking and presentation skills. It broadened their spectrum of love for culture and heritage of India. Assemblies were conducted on the various themes such as – Moral Values, Books are my best friends , Rakshabandhan , Janmashtmi , Independence Day , Republic Day , Health is wealth , Go Green , Save the Sparkling Lives ( Animals ) , Diwali, Republic Day etc. were to name a few .

We at Indraprastha truly believe, dreams do come true only if we wish hard enough . To inculcate the habit of reading, the students of Class 2 presented a splendid virtual show ‘A Treasure Trove of Fairy Tales’ on 12th December , 2021. The spectacular performances of the students reminded us that no one is too old to believe in the magic of Fairy Tales.

We, at Indraprastha truly believe that sports are an integral part of physical well being. The students of classes I & II presented a virtual sports day on 5th February, 2021. Various fun-filled races and drills were presented by the students. They participated wholeheartedly and understood the importance of being fit and healthy under the dedicated guidance of their mentors. The students showcased various drills on Aerobics, Skating , Yoga , Taekwondo , Drool 'n' Dribble with a ball , Swoop the Hoopla Hoop. Various races were conducted at the Inter and Inter-class levels - Swagger Jagger (Jumping Jacks), Jiggle Wiggle Around the Waist, Comet Skippers (Skipping Count ), Stack the Pyramid, Squishy Feet ( Shoe & Socks Race ), Penguin Paddle, Knock Down the Bottles, Toss the Paper( Wriggle Jiggle). The students participated enthusiastically in the races and left the audience spellbound by displaying their highest level of energy and excitement.
The students participated in various competitions at Inter-school level which helped them gain confidence and they came out with flying colours . The students who secured the first positions are - Demyraa Kapoor(1B3) at Palette of colours (Adarsheela Aura 2020) , Moksh Saxena(1A1) at VARCHASV(Indrapuram Public School), Pratush at Vishwa Rang. Sia Arora of I B1 secured the Second position in Elocution Competition held at DAV Pushpanjali, Dia RajputIA1) at Pratibimb -Universal Public School.
Sarah Chatwal(IIB2) at Indraprastha Global School , Aarna Kukreti(IIA2) at Fantasia(Adarsh public School ), Devanshi Vatsayan(2B1) at Bal Bharti Public School (Dwarka), Manvika Chauhan(2A1) at VARCHASV(Indrapuram Public School) bagged the First positions . The students who secured the second positions at various schools are - Kridha Khurana(II B2 ) at Cambridge Foundation, Mansifat Singh(2B3) and Pihu Singla(2B3) at St. Xavier(Gurugram) , Adyant Gupta(2B3) at MRV (Dwarka) , Hriday Negi(2B3) at Shanti Asiatic School, Ahemdabad, . Aaradhya Bansal(2A3) at GSP Fest Pallavi. These tiny tots have proved that excellence cannot be locked down within the four walls of the house due to pandemic. They have made a mark in the world by overcoming all the obstacles and have brought laurels to the family and to school.
AIL ( Art Integrated Learning )
Art Integrated Learning was conducted with the students on the theme- SIKKIM (Where Nature Smiles) to emphasise on Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat Abhiyaan. This enabled the students to feel proud of the rich , diverse cultural heritage of India. They came to know about the languages spoken, festivals celebrated (and their relevance), flora and fauna of Sikkim through various activities. They acknowledged the Unity in Diversity celebrated in India and developed respect for different cultures.
Virtual Tours enabled the students visit their dream destinations, experience major events, witness different activities and museums while sitting in their houses. Various virtual tours were conducted to help the students connect with different places, historical buildings, museum, locations, people, space, factories , zoo etc. They enjoyed these tours and were excited to enhance their knowledge about new places during the sessions.
