SHAPING LEADERS
|
LEADERS IN MAKING
The highest form of leadership is transformational leadership. Leadership is not by rank or designation; it is by attitude and by competence. In Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna says, “As the leader, so the people.” According to this axiom, leaders set an example and become role models. A true leader is intelligent, dynamic, energetic, active, self motivated and ready to act and take initiative in all walks of life. At Indraprastha, we strongly believe in the mantra of building relationships because that’s the magic of understanding small things and sustaining it for a lifetime.
For Students
- Regular training programmess are held to familiarize students with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. In order to develop leadership qualities,
- The Prefectorial board is elected by a process of free and fair elections conducted in a democratic and transparent way. The student council attends the Leadership Workshop which exposes them to various interactive sessions of lecture and activities. The workshop focuses mainly on team building skills and enhancement of leadership qualities among the cabinet members.
- Members of student council are motivated to organize all the events on their own. The council also observes and maintains proper discipline during dispersal and lunch break. They are stationed at all corners of the school which helps them maintain order in an organized manner.
- Events like Overnight camp are another unique opportunity for growth, allowing kids to become independent and self-confident, while socializing and making new friends, and even learning new skills.
- School editorial board provides a creative and democratic platform for students, teachers and staff to voice their ideas, opinions and suggestions.
- There are other functional clubs such as photography club, movie-making club which organize and execute all events of the school.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2021
"The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things." - Ronald Reagan
Indraprastha believes that it is important for students to experience leadership opportunities during their schooling, to learn the art of building relationships within teams, defining identities, and achieving tasks effectively. It also provides an opportunity to learn to identify and display effective communication and interpersonal skills.Student leadership development helps create skills that the students can carry over to adulthood. Indraprastha, with its motto, ‘Teach Each Child, Develop Whole Child,’ gives the golden opportunity to every student to prove their mettle and rise against all obstacles as a leader every year. The Investiture Ceremony 2021 was a great success, with Vivek Maggo from XII AIII and Paakhi Baranwal from XII BII leading the school with Head Boy and Head Girl titles for the session 2021-22. Many students were bestowed upon with the distinguished titles of respective President, Vice-Presidents for several school societies like, the Literary Society, Debating Society, Cultural Society, etc.
At Indraprastha, leadership is a skill for life, and we ensure all students have regular opportunities to be involved and strengthen their skills. We sincerenly take pride in our young leaders and are certain that they will do justice to their respective posts as the leaders of today.
